There are a lot of men who have sex with men who, for one reason or other, do not identify themselves as being gay or bisexual. Therefore they are hard to contact and limited in the type of information we can give them.
MESMAC North Wales tackles this problem with targeted Outreach work at PSL's (Public Sex Locations). In reality this means visiting cruising sites, places where men go to meet other men for sex, ensuring that men using these sites have the opportunity to ask questions and obtain advice and information on safer sex and sexuality. If you are caught having sex in a public place, you run the risk of being arrested and prosecuted in a court of Law.
Don’t take the Risk Keep an eye on the warning levels
There are 4 levels of policing in public sex places.
Level 1 The police inform, by notice, that they have received complaints from the public about sexual activity in a public place.
Level 2 They monitor the area in plain clothes.
Level 3 They monitor the area with uniformed officers.
Level 4 They monitor and challenge anyone in the surrounding area, and ask you about your activity in that location, they could very easily arrest you on suspicion. So Mesmac suggests that at Level 4 you keep well away.
